Treatment exclusion
Possible risks, dangers or complications; Your treatment is performed by a qualified artist who will provide the best possible care following all applicable laws and exceeding industry standard practices. There is, however, a chance of the following associated risks when performing this treatment. One of the best preventive measures is to adhere closely to the pre- and post-care instructions we have provided. This information can be found on the website www.kellyplante.ca .
Pain; Pain may occur even after the topical anesthetic has been used.
Infection; Infection is very unusual. Treated areas should be kept clean by applying only the treatment instructions, and with fresh, clean hands when touching the area. Refer to the “After-care” sheet for instructions on care.
Uneven pigmentation and asymmetry; this can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding or many other causes. Your follow-up enhancement appointment is used to correct pigmentation irregularities. Every effort will be made to avoid asymmetry, however adjustments may be necessary during the follow-up enhancement session to correct any irregularities
Excessive swelling or bruising; Some people bruise or swell more easily than others. Ice may help reduce swelling in some areas. Do not apply ice to the lips after treatment. Swelling or bruising usually disappears in 1 to 5 days.
Anesthetics; Topical anesthetics are used to numb the area to be tattooed. Lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and/or epinephrine cream and/or liquid are used. If you are allergic to any of these products, please inform your EsthétiK artist before treatment.
MRI; Because the pigments used in permanent cosmetic procedures contain inert oxides that may require a low-level magnet if you are to be scanned by an MRI machine. You should inform your MRI technician of any tattoos or permanent cosmetics before you begin scanning.
The alternative to these possible risks is to use traditional cosmetic tools and services and not undergo the semi-permanent eyebrow procedure.

Your treatment by Kelly Plante
This form is intended to give you the necessary information to make an informed choice or not to undergo your treatment, request for semi-permanent makeup with Kelly Plante. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Although semi-permanent make-up is a highly effective treatment in most cases, no guarantee can be given that a specific client will fully benefit from the procedure.
This is the process of inserting pigment into the basal layer of the epidermis. It is a form of tattooing, albeit semi-permanent, as the result will fade over the years. All instruments that penetrate the skin or come into contact with body fluids are disposable and discarded after use. Cross-contamination guidelines are strictly adhered to.
Results are generally excellent. However, a perfect result is not a realistic expectation. It is also customary and advisable to expect a touch-up after healing.
What to expect
At first, the color will appear brighter or darker than the final result. Generally, in 2 to 7 days, the color will fade by 10 to 70%, soften and appear more natural. In the case of treatments with pigment, this is semi-permanent and will fade over time without disappearing. For a new client, our first treatment is the preparation for the enhancement session, creating stunning results following the second treatment. This may mean that the color is slightly lighter or less full in the first session. Breaking up the process also reduces healing time between sessions.
Our perfecting session allows you to adjust pigmentation according to your skin's reaction to the cosmetic colorant (ink/pigment), and to fill and define your sculpted permanent make-up to your specifications. Additional touch-ups are required within 6 months to 5 years.
